I’ve been buying this wine at the Costco in North Naples for $33. When I applied the Vivino app it says the going price is $49.99 and that they’ll sell it to you for $74.
it’s a delicious Pinot Noir loaded with cherries and cassis. My favorite style.
The MacPhail family sold their winery and the name to a large wine company a few years ago. (So the story I heard goes.) The new owners did a very good job of keeping the quality and style intact. Then they got sued by the red wagon company and decided not to fight it out in court. Therefore, there will be 2017 wines and that’s it.
In the meantime, the MacPhails have opened another winery and are making some delicious Pinot Noirs and Chardonnay’s.

I have tasted those two wines. I believe they also make a Rose and a Champagnois. They have great newsletters with very witty and entertaining copy. I recommend you find and buy the MacPhail Pinot Noir as well as the Tongue Dancer wines.
We only live once.
