We are visiting our friends Bobby and Debbie in Nakomis, FL, just north of Venice. Our mission: eat and drink well and have fun.
After a light happy hour, we went to Roessler’s restaurant. I have never been there, but Bobbie and Debbie have been there before and were impressed with both the ambiance and cuisine.
Our waiter, Josh, was from Hawaii and had an excellent personality. He also knew the menu well and described all of the dishes well. He also offered good guidance through their very reasonably priced wine menu. We brought a Pinot Noir knowing they had a $25 corkage, but found their wine prices so fair that we chose to order from their list.
We started by splitting two salads: an Arugula Goat Cheese salad and a Caesar salad. (not pictured)
For appetizers Bobby had and Onion Soup and I had the Lobster and Crab Bisque. Both were delicious and intensely flavored.

Our very tasty and well-prepared entrees were:

We shared two desserts:
The Parfait Roessler was a delicious ice cream sundae. The Flourless Chocolate Terrine was served ala mode, a rich and decadent dessert.

We complemented our desserts with a

Yalumba Botrytis Viognier, much like a Sauternes, but only $9 for the glass.
So far, in our limited visits to the Sarasota/Venice area, this is easily the best restaurant we have been to. The atmosphere and decor is most pleasant, the staff is very accommodating, and the cuisine and wines were all delicious and fairly priced. I recommend it highly.
