The Creamsicle

When I was a kid we’d go to the movies for Saturday matinees. 25 cents.

After the movie we’d go across the street to a candy store for penny candies and, if we had and extra nickel, a creamsicle. It was vanilla ice cream covered with orange ice. A real gourmet delight.
One day I discovered a new creamsicle that was covered with raspberry ice. What a wonderful treat!

So now I’m a grown up, but still yearn for the frosty deliciousness of a creamsicle. It’s quite a delema. Today I figured out an adult solution!

Equal parts. Put in shaker loaded with ice. Shake 30 times. Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a raspberry or small vanilla bean.
I didn’t have an appropriate garnish, but you get the idea.
