Florentino’s in Newtown, PA

Went out this weekend with our friends Vince and Claudia. (She, like Barb, is a little camera shy, so you only get to see Vince.)

We’ve been going here for many years and are especially fond of their Eggplant Parmigiana. Every Mother’s Day we are required by our daughters to bring a tray of this special dish for the whole family to enjoy.

This is some world class Whole Wheat Garlic Bread. Do not miss this hot, wonderful treat!

As is often the case, I forgot to take pix of the salad course. That was a shame because their salads are very generous and delicious. Barb and I shared the Fennel, Mushroom and Arugula Salad. Claudia and Vince shared the Caesar Salad. Both were split onto two plates to accommodate our request.

Vince had the Lasagna, a mighty big portion of one of the best I’ve ever had. Pleny for him to take home.
Claudia had the Lobster Ravioli which everyone enjoys.
Barb, as always, got the Eggplant Parm. Most people take home a bit. Not Barb. (I must admit to hijacking a few bites.)
One of my favorite pasta dishes is Ziti with Sweet Sausage, Tomatoes and Olives. It’s hearty and very much like Puttanesca.

They have great looking homemade desserts at Florentino’s. I never save room.
This BYOB has been one of our go-to places for quite a while. When we move away we will miss it badly. The servers are always very pleasant, as is the chef. It’s on State Street in Newtown. Don’t miss it.
