Whadayado when you have a night to go out and just wanna stay local and don’t wanna spend an arm and a leg and wanna bring your own wine and wanna be sure your gonna have a great meal? You go to your local “go to” place.
So far, we are happy with Romeo’s in Plainsboro. They have nice pizza. Byob. Plenty of room to feel safe these days. Nice outdoor seating with heaters. And it’s what I consider a very good “Chicken Parmasan” place. You know what I’m talking about.
Sometimes I’m embarrassed to show up with a Costco wine. I shouldnt be because they are always excellent choices, great buys, and really good wines. This Rioja Riserva was absolutely delicious and cost me about $14. Every bit as good as a $28 bottle with a more impressive label. Entrees come with a small house salad. Barb gets the house vinaigrette and I get the Blue Cheese dressing. The garlic bread was nothing special, but not bad. This Chicken Parm was enormous, deeeeelocious, tender, and not over breaded.I love spaghetti with garlic and oil. Theirs is made with freshly sauteed garlic. They substitute their red sauce for this white, a huge plus for me. I almost always take some home. The entree is that big a portion.Barb has been getting the Chicken Paisanno. She switches out the pasta for Brocholli Rabe. I think its a $3 surcharge. She loves this dish.
They have dessets by Bindi, imported from Italy. The servers are all really nice and eager to please. The food comes out at an unrushed but never slow pace. This dinner with espresso and a a Profiterole dessert cost about $62 with a Very generous tip.
