Return to Thai Sushi by KJ on Marco Island

This is the first time I’m following up on a place that I have previously posted. Thai Sushi by KJ has been our favorite local spot for sushi since we found it. The sushi is always fresh, delicious, creatively and beautifully presented. The servers are nice and the ambiance is very pleasant, sometimes loud. The place gets jammed in season. Yet Kathy, (married to John, the chef) always keeps cool and gets everyone served.

The reason I’m reposting this restaurant is because we returned last week with our friends, Mike and Heidi. We are all sushi lovers and agreed on a Sushi and Sashimi boat for four. ($139.99) This was the most impressive sushi platter I have ever enjoyed. It was unbelievably generous. The food was absolutely delicious. There were two dishes of Faux-Ceviche, one on each side of the boat. And the $12 corkage permits me to bring Pinot Noirs, a match I learned about at the James Beard House many years ago.

So look at these pix, start drooling and get there after the holiday rush when they start to take reservations again. By the way, their Duck in Green Curry is delicious as is the Pad Thai (just sayin’).

Now THIS is an impressive sushi boat!
This close-up cut off about 1/4 of the boat.
One of the two dishes that were not really ceviches, just more yummy fish.
Mike and Heidi, fellow ”fressers”.
