Bice Ristorante in Naples, Florida

We visited Bice the other night with our friends Jay and Paula. They have been there several times since Hurricane Ian when it was one of the few places that re-opened quickly. They have enjoyed their meals there and let me know we would like the food as well as the ambiance. So the time had arrived for us to check out someplace new.

Jay and Paula were looking very lovey dovey that night.
Our server, Goce, was a real pro. He described all of the dishes clearly and graciously served us the bottle of wine that Jay brought.
This Barolo was exquisite and paired perfectly with all of our dishes. Jay doesn’t quite have the presentation panache and subtlety that Goce had.
The bread that they served was really delish and wonderfully accompanied by some butter and oil.
We started by sharing the Eggplant Parmigiana appetizer. It was not too large a portion, but sufficient to give us all a taste. It was absolutely terrific and I’d recommend it to anyone dining at Bice. The texture was crisp outside, creamy eggplant inside and the cheese was perfect.
Both ladies ordered the Tricolore Salad and added Salmon for a protein. Both were very happy with the taste and the doneness of their fish.
Jay and I both ordered the Veal Chop with Marsala and Mushroom Sauce. It included Broccoli Rabe. Jay’s was perfectly done to a medium temperature and mine was done rare, something seldom presented.
Three of us ordered a side of spaghetti with garlic and oil. The pasta was
perfectly Al dente, but could have used more garlic to kick up the flavor.

We were all pretty full at this point, so we decided to skip dessert. They had some very nice choices on their dessert menu, I’m just behaving a little these days, trying to maintain what is left of my figure. Ha!

I felt that Bice had wonderful service and a romantic sort of ambiance. The prices were a little high and the corkage was $35. I’d recommend it for a special occasion or any time you’re Jonesing for a great veal chop.
