We’ve been going to Caleb’s for several years. It’s one of those places that’s just far enough that we don’t think to go there very often. Then when we get there we say to each other: “This place is great. Why don’t we come here more often?”
Caleb is an unassuming guy who looks like a chef, but is never snooty or aloof. He walks around the dining room making sure that everything is going smoothly and everyone is happy with their meal. On occasion he answers the phone himself and books your table. His menu changes from season to season and he has nightly specials. He gets a great portion of his ingredients from local farms who he mentions on the menu. Like it’s no big deal.
We went last night and enjoyed a spectacular meal. Our first time there in two years. No reason not to have been there, except for the pandemic.

Many restaurants serve their entrees with skimpy bits of vegetables or require that you get your sides at an additional cost. Caleb’s dishes include substantial sides, well thought out and creatively prepared.
They offered several desserts that I felt tempting, but I’m trying to watch my girly figure. (Sorry, I’m remembering many of my childhood idioms and sharing them with you.)
Caleb’s is byob and they remind you when you make your reservation. I love that. I pulled this beauty out of my stash and it went great with our meal.

So if you are ever anywhere near Peddlers Village, or even not so near, I strongly advise you to go to Caleb’s. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday that they are open.
You’ll never be disappointed.
Since I moved away I long for these kind of high quality chef owned restaurants. The generous portion of veggies done thoughtfully is impressive. Here byob is illegal even with a corkerage charge
