Lamoraga Spanish Restaurant in North Naples

Barb and I had show tickets in North Naples this week and decided to catch a happy hour dinner. We chose Lamoraga because it’s on the way and has a special bar menu before 6. Their drinks and wine were 50% off and the bar menu was appealing and 25% off. They also offered valet parking.

We both ordered a glass of Rose Cava. It listed for $15 so we each got two ordering the second before 6 pm. $7.50 a glass was a nice deal.
This Crab Stack was all jumbo lump crab over chopped tomato. Very little mayo or filler. At $20 it’s very fairly priced. At $15 it was a steal. Really tasty and very attractive.
This Basil Shrimp dish was quite unique. They wrapped the shrimp in basil leaves and a phyllo sheet. Quickly fried, it was delicious and not at all greasy. The dish offered 4 shrimp for $14, reduced to $11.50. Oy, vat a deal.
Since this was our dinner, we ordered a couple more appetizers.
The fried calamari were a generous portion and included both the rings and tentacles. The dipping sauce was really good. Again, though it was fried, it wasn’t at all greasy. It cost us $11.25
The mussels were a nice bowl of really fresh mollusks. The sauce was subtle and complemented the mussels. $12 after discount.
I had to show you this close-up. This is what a pristine mussel should look like. The entire bowl was filled with these beauties. Very impressive.
They offered these Chorizo stuffed Mushrooms that knocked me out. Barb usually avoids meat, but gave one a try and really liked it. Marked down for $16 to $12.
Since this was my dinner, I had to finish with a dessert. This Fig Tart really hit the spot. I ordered it at the end of the meal and paid full price: $13. Still very reasonable.

We had been to Lamoraga several years ago and enjoyed it. The happy hour menu made it irresistible. The bar was filled with many people who appeared to be regulars. If it was closer to us, we’d be there a lot.

The bar and tables were covered by a very pleasant guy named Josh. He was patient, knowledgeable and efficient.

I highly recommend Lamoraga for both a happy hour spot and a place to go for really good Spanish food. The decor is modern and attractive. They have outdoor dining. Their drinks and wine list are reasonably priced. They offered a corkage fee, but I don’t recall what it was. Give it a try. I thinks you’ll really like it.

  1. Nice photos. Looks unique and tasty. Were the mussels cooked thoroughly as the closeup looked otherwise? Were the shrimp a good size ? The calamari looked more tentacles than rings. Now I have another craving..thanks
