Alexander’s in North Naples

I’ve been thinking about Alexander’s since we’ve arrived in Naples in November. It’s a perpetual favorite of ours. They have beautiful garden seating, excellent service, superb food and, best of all, free corkage on Tuesday nights. They also have great duck.

Our wine storage is full, loaded with my current favorite Pinot Noir. Perfect for duck. So off we went last Tuesday, bottle in tow.

They always bring fresh bread and super soft butter. Beware: it’s tough to resist. I ate it all.
This was a half portion of their very generous Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese salad. It also had some shredded apple on top, an attractive and tasty addition.
This is, of course, my currently favorite Pinot Noir. I found it at shopwineslash.com. My research shows that it is a $70 value. It costs me $39 a bottle. A bit pricey for everyday, but a wonderful option to accompany a special meal.
Barb ordered the Snapper Provençal. She substituted her starch with extra veggies. She was very pleases with her dish.
Wait: could it possibly be that I ordered the Magret of Duck? Very rare. Yum! And Potatoes Dauphinois were an absolute treat.
Our server, Kathryn, was absolutely delightful. She guided us through our menu choices, kept a constant eye on us during our meal, and handled my corny jokes and banter.

I reviewed Alexander’s Garden Restaurant three years ago. I enjoy it even more now. Despite the fact that I order the duck almost every time I go, I notice that the menu offers an even greater degree of sophistication in its choices. It’s one of my very favorite spots to dine in Naples and warrants the repeat visits each year.
