Parmesan Petes in North Naples

When going out to dinner, choosing a place gets more difficult as your group gets larger. Factor in the search for places that serve al fresco, a cold snap in the weather and different preferences in favored dining times, making a choice can become almost impossible. It’s a good thing that Vince and Claudia, Tony and Paulette and Barb and I are always willing to compromise, modify, and indulge in order to have a fun evening dining together.

It also helped that Parmesan Pete’s had a sizable outdoor area with sufficient heaters. The night we went they had several specials as well as a sizable regular menu with plenty of appealing options. Their wine list is loaded with excellent choices at reasonable prices.

We chose a couple of bottles to share. This Pinot Grigio was crisp and paired nicely with all of our dishes. At $44 it was a good selection.
This Tuscan red was also $44 and a righteous buy. It paired well with our meat dishes, was dry with nice fruit.
I’m pretty sure that Claudia and Vince both started with a side Caesar Salad, his has anchovies and hers was without.
Tony ordered the meatball stuffed with cheese which he shared. It was great. It featured Pete’s special home made tomato sauce which has a real “Brooklyn” homemade flavor going on.
The Scallops were serves both as a special and as a regular menu option. They all looked good and the three ladies all ordered Scallops and enjoyed them
Tony and I both ordered a veal chop on the bone. The meat was smashed thin and turned into a Veal Parmesan, served over pasta. I needed to indulge a whim and ordered a side of pasta with garlic and oil which ended up to be superfluous, taken home for the next nights dinner.
Vince, our local wise man, ordered the regular veal parm which was every bit as good as the special.
My side pasta with garlic and oil. Delicious, just way too much.
Tony ordered a Tiramisu dessert which was passed around the table and was enjoyed by all.

Parmesan Pete’s turned out to be an excellent restaurant. Our waiter was a delightful young man who explained all of the dishes very accurately. He also helped us choose the right wines for our meal.

The heaters kept us pretty toasty until one went out They did not have a replacement propane tank. By then we were almost done our meals. The ambiance outside was very mellow and pleasant. The indoor room was a bit crowded with nobody wearing masks. It did look very homey..

I recommend trying Parmesan Pete’s. It is a truly Brooklyn-style Italian restaurant from the house made Marzano tomato sauce to the excellently prepared fish. They have a $20 corkage fee as well as a nicely chosen house wine list. The service is attentive and caring. You really cant go wrong with this place.
